12 сентября жители Твери могут наблюдать поистине завораживающее зрелище – установку куполов на храм святого благоверного князя Александра Невского.

На 14.00 два купола уже заняли свои места. Это событие вызвало большой интерес у горожан, за процессом следят толпы прохожих. Некоторые верующие начали читать молитву к Александру Невскому.

 

Напомним, закладка церкви состоялась 20 октября 2010 года. Место для храма выбрано не случайно – ранее улица Коминтерна носила имя Александра Невского, потому что на ее пересечении со Станционным шоссе (ныне проспект Чайковского) стоял величественный храм в честь святого благоверного князя. Церковь была построена в 1893 году на деньги горожан.

Но судьба ее оказалась трагической. После закрытия в 1929 году, здание многократно перестраивалось для различных хозяйственных нужд, утратило колокольню, пятиглавие и декор стен. Наконец в 1982 году его обезображенный остов полностью уничтожили в связи с началом реконструкции привокзальной площади.

Примечательно, что до сих пор ведутся споры о том, удачно ли выбрано место для постройки храма. Некоторые горожане считают, что церковь должна находиться там, где располагалась исторически, другие, напротив, недовольны тем, что храм стоит слишком близко к проезжей части и загораживает здание вокзала.
