Московский центр непрерывного математического образования при информационной поддержке Группы РИА Новости и «Учительской газеты» при содействии Министерства образования и науки РФ подготовил перечень 500 лучших школ России, которые продемонстрировали высокие образовательные результаты в 2012-2013 учебном году.
При формировании списка использовались в качестве критериев высокие показатели при сдаче ЕГЭ и наличие призеров или победителей заключительного этапа Всероссийской олимпиады школьников в 2013 году.
В топ-500 есть несколько частей: топ-25, который представляет собой рейтинг школ, и остальные учебные заведения, которые никак не ранжировались.
Тверскую область в этом большом списке представили 3 гимназии №№ 8, 12, 44 и школа № 17 (математическая).
